Show 29: The Alternate Duckie Timeline Effect
Jan. 20, 2010 (108:08)
http://bigassradio.blogspot.com
SMITECAST jumps from one half-baked pop culture theory and unfounded rumor to another...slightly more random than your average unmedicated podcast.
Randy and guest Angie recap his recent appearance on the THIS AIN'T IOWA podcast, get yelled at by Nancy Grace, prepare for the 2012 apocalypse, contemplate careers as Wal-Mart greeters, review the movie PARANORMAL ACTIVITY, solve the JFK and Kurt Cobain murders, slander Michael Jackson, Elvis, and Nick Cage, examine the movie career of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, and speculate on the extent of Jay Leno's evil. Many other subjects are covered as well, but they all culminate in converging alternate timelines surrounding the rumored original ending to PRETTY IN PINK. It's all a bit...complex.
Almost two solid hours of wall-to-wall podcast action.

This Ain't Iowa - Show 410
New Smitecast coming in a few days, but just today I've been interviewed for the This Ain't Iowa podcast. The interviewer becomes the interviewee, the spider becomes the fly...etc., etc. It's a good show, even if it comes off disturbingly like a true-life podcast remake of Joe Dirt. Surely a major media event.

Show 28: ...And A Slightly Less Awful New Year
Jan. 01, 2010 (62:37)
http://bigassradio.blogspot.com
A description can push your podcast and make it irresistible to the prospective listener, or it can kill any interest in it. Unfortunately, I've been kinda sick and don't wish to heap flowery praise on it right now.
What you get: lots of New Years-type music and a new song from Tom Smith about bacon. Also, a "death pool" of 10 celebrities likely to expire in the coming year and much talk about...stuff.

Show 27: Worst Christmas Ever
Dec. 23, 2009 (70:56)
http://bigassradio.blogspot.com
This episode has been cursed with production problems for weeks, so its very existence is a triumph alone. Much talk about Christmas, the destroyed episode 27 that you'll never hear, the latest dead celebrities, Obama's health care plan, and the playing of favorite holiday tunes. Merry Christmas, suckers!
Music by Count Floyd, Sherwin Sleeves, the Chikin Poks, John Prine, the Marty Gold Children's Chorus, Billy Idol, the Moneyshot Cosmonauts, Richard Cheese, Power Salad, Bob Rivers, TV's Kyle, and some guy whose name will never be known.

Show 26: Hitler Means Quality
Dec. 4, 2009 (52:46)
http://bigassradio.blogspot.com
In the first of what's likely to be several Christmas shows, Randy is joined by Dementia Radio megastar Carrie Dahlby for a rousing discussion about perverted Germans, Hitler, boobs, Vienna sausages, small brown spiders, disdain for Dean Koontz, the single-mindedness of the late Michael Crichton, and other Christmas-y things. It's a must-hear, especially if there's a gun pointed to your head and the person with the gun says "you must hear this".
If nothing else, "yule" enjoy the humorous Christmas music from Rycehat, Max DeGroot, Paul and Storm, and Jonathan Coulton.

Show 25 - "Self-Congratulatory Clip Spectacular"
November 21, 2009 (67:16) - www.bigassbiscuit.com
A fine broadcasting tradition: the lazy "best of" clip show. This time, a celebration of the historic 25th episode of Smitecast, a podcast that by all accounts should not have lasted this long. The early episodes from 2007 and 2008 created in Minneapolis and Las Vegas were heavy on show prep and are good examples of what one man with a free hour and an endless capacity to talk about trivial crap can accomplish. Much discussion of 1980s cartoons and boobs, and a few songs.

Show 24 - "Socialist Networking"
November 14, 2009 (61:00)
For the first time in recent memory, Randy does Smitecast alone.
So, it's largely a recap of news stories from this week and Randy's reactions to them...but there is also a good, solid bashing of the Obama administration and music from Robert Lund, Chris Waffle, The Great Luke Ski, Ted Knight, Edd "Kookie" Byrnes, The Topsiders, Was (Not Was), Les Dantz, and Steve Goodie.
There is also a bit of attempted comedy that would get Randy soooo competely fired if this aired on radio. God bless the internet.
